Marymount School of New York

Harambee 2025: Black Beauty

The Ask:
Marymount School of New York is an all-girls private school on the Upper East Side that hosts Harambee, an annual performance celebrating Black History Month. The school’s Director of Belonging & Community Engagement reached out looking for a poster that aligned with the 2025 theme, “Black Beauty.” She shared thoughtful creative direction and inspiration that had been collaboratively developed with the students to help guide the visual approach.

The Outcome:
We translated the shared inspiration into a cohesive visual system that honored the theme while centering student voices and expression. The final designs balanced elegance and empowerment, resulting in an event poster supported by a digital invitation and custom T-shirt design that extended the identity across both promotional and day-of touchpoints.

Deliverables: Event poster, digital invitation, and T-shirt design.
